When you’re struggling with skin problems, it’s easy to just give up and feel like you’ll be stuck with them forever. But you might be wondering if you really have to settle. You may have heard that cosmetic lasers can clear up a lot of skin problems, and that’s absolutely true, but it’s still not an easy process. There are a lot of laser procedures to pick from. I’m back with a vengeance! Taking some time off last week was good, I’ve managed to kick this nasty flu bug to the kerb, plus the short break has lifted my spirits (even if just a tiny little bit). As mentioned in this blog post, I wanted to declutter and organise our home this past week but since I was sick for most of the week, I didn’t manage to do a heck of a lot. I was feeling a lot better on Friday and Saturday, so got to work and managed to clear out my beauty room and our study. How 2 people can accumulate so much junk is beyond me (well to be honest, probably 80% of the junk is mine). I’ve made 3 piles – ‘Donate To Momma’, ‘Donate To Housekeeper’ and ‘Donate To Charity’. There’s still a lot to do (I want to get through the whole house within the next week or 2, especially my overflowing Tupperware drawer) but I’m getting there… Slowly but surely. Continue reading

I enjoy preparing for all my blog posts, but there are certain blog posts I really, REALLY enjoy writing (and taking photos for) – ‘Beauty Snoop’ is one of them. ‘Beauty Snoop’ posts are short review / first impression blog posts, I usually feature 5 or 6 different products (skin care, hair care, nail care, makeup, fragrance or even makeup application tools) and give you my initial 2 cents worth on each item. You can take a look at my previous ‘Beauty Snoop’ blog posts here, and in case you are wondering what the asterisks (**) next to certain product names mean, I cover all that in this blog post. Imagine the music from the 90s song ‘Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)’ by Baz Luhrman. Let me give you a refresher: “Ladies & gentlemen of the class of ’99. Wear sunscreen. If I could offer you only one tip for the future…sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience, I will dispense this advice now…” Continue reading
While you guys are reading this blog post, I’m probably walking along the beach in Hermanus… Not trying to make you jealous, just saying… Alright…I’m trying to make you just a little jealous. Continue reading
